Greek authorities launched a ban on paper tickets for all league football matches on Tuesday as part of an effort to crack down on the violence that has plagued the sport for decades.

Greece will allow its top league football matches to be played with fans from Feb. 13, two months after top clubs were ordered to play behind closed doors.

Greece must play all its top division football matches without fans for two months after the severe injuring of a police officer during a volleyball match last week.
