  • 0': Mind you, with Gotze, Reus and Blaszczykowski (who I will refer to by his nickname Kuba) also in their side Dortmund are not short of attacking talent!

  • 0': Before we start there is a minute silence in memory of a plane crash this afternoon which was carrying a Donetsk fan.
  • 0': Shakhtar get us underway, their first game for 70 days.
  • 2': Dortmund are in their change strip of black shirts, yellow shorts and black socks while Shakhtar are adorned in their home kit of orange and black.
  • 3': An early foray down the right wing from Shakhtar brings a promising opportunity but Hubschman's cross is overhit and clears the box.
  • 4': Hummels, sloppy in possession, passes straight to a Shakhtar attacker as Dortmund attempt to clear their lines.
  • 5': Shakhtar have enjoyed the better start here and are making the pace, the Dortmund attackers haven't really been able to get on the ball yet.
  • 6': Lewandowski wins a free kick for Dortmund after he is manhandled to the ground rather zealously.
  • 6': The ball is floated into the box dangerously but Tschygrynski heads away before an acrobatic effort from Kuba goes wide. Goal kick.
  • 7': Dortmund, when they have got on the ball, are trying to impose their pressing, passing game.
  • 7': Reus breaks down the left, and thinks he has won a corner for Dortmund, but Howard Webb waves away his protests. Another goal kick for Shakhtar.
  • 9': Another speculative effort from the energetic Kuba who bursts onto the edge of the box before dragging his shot across the face of goal and well wide.
  • 9': Mkhitaryan looks to have forced the first save from Weidenfeller but he is offside and the goalkeeper's block doesn't matter.
  • 10': Dortmund are beginning to get on top in the midfield battle but Shakhtar have men back in numbers and are happy to defend deep.
  • 11': The Ukrainians are happy to counter though, and as they do just that, Fernandinho strays offside and wastes his side's opportunity.
  • 11': You can see why Taison was linked to Chelsea - he runs forward with strength and speed and is causing some problems early on.
  • 13': There are some strong challenges flying in early, Lewandowski and Reus have both felt the force of them already. The foul on Reus draws a central free kick 30 yards out which he floats into the grateful arms of Shakhtar goalkeeper Pyatov.
  • 14': Lewandowski catches Shakhtar on the backfoot and has a chance to play in fellow Polish international Kuba but he doesn't get his head up and overhits the pass.
  • 15': Luiz Adriano catches Dortmund right back Santana out and goes around him on the left wing before the defender recovers to tackle back and concede a corner.
  • 16': Taison is really showing his strength off now - he has just floored Kuba as the pair battled for the ball, and the Dortmund man isn't a lightweight!
  • 17': Dortmund corner after good work by Lewandowski. The ball flies in and Hummels, from a standing position, heads powerfully against the crossbar.
  • 18': Dortmund are on top, and when they can't find a way through to goal they are happy to pass it around until they do.
  • 18': Kuba has clashed with Tschygrynski in the penalty area leading to him leaving the field of play.
  • 20': You wouldn't notice Dortmund are a man short though as Reus bursts forward and unleashes a snap shot from distance which Pyatov holds well.
  • 21': Kuba is back on the pitch with no hangover from that knock and Dortmund are back in the swing of aiming balls at their target man Lewandowski.
  • 22': The Shakhtar fans really are creating some great noise.
  • 22': Shakhtar are having some promising spells of possession but at the moment they lack the spark to convert them into dangerous possession in the final third.
  • 23': Shakhtar free kick on the right wing in an advancaed position after what can only be described as a striker's tackle from Lewandowski.
  • 24': The ball is swung into the crowded box but fails to create anything for Dortmund to fret over before being deflected wide. Goal kick.
  • 26': Good work down the left from Taison gives Mkhitaryan site of goal but his shot is deflected wide for a corner, a disappointing one which fails to trouble Dortmund.
  • 28': The crosses keep flying in from Shakhtar's right wing but the Dortmund defence are more than up to the task of heading clear. However, the ball drops to Fernandinho on the edge of the area, he shoots, but wide.
  • 30': Lucky bounce for Pyatov - a shot from Hummels strikes his arm and flies off but he is able to retrieve the ball quickly before an attacker pounces.
  • 30': A soft foul on Adriano by Santana wins a free kick for Shakhtar, centrally about 30 yards out.
  • 31': GOAL That free kick has been made to count by Dario Srna who curls it up and over the wall and beats the flat footed Weidenfeller for pace.
  • 32': Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu cuts a happy figure on the touchline - they have had a rough ride at times but they have been able to trouble Dortmund at times.
  • 33': Taison again makes a nuisance of himself down the left wing and beats Piszczek before whipping in a cross but Schmelzer is on hand to head away before another goal flies in.
  • 34': The home crowd are really roaring their side on now, and with good reason. Dortmund want to hope they don't continue to get better as they acclimatise following their winter break.
  • 35': Fernandinho strides forward purposefully before lifting a near pass over the Dortmund defence for Adriano but it is slightly overhit and into the arms of Weidenfeller.
  • 35': Kuba has time to settle himself and fire a volley from the edge of the penalty area but it is direct into the arms of Pyatov.
  • 35': Dortmund are being forced to dig deep as they search to regain the upper hand - Shakhtar are happy to put men behind the ball and defend in their own half.
  • 36': A tough tackle from Tschygrynski on Gotze floors the young German and gives Dortmund a free kick on the right wing just outside the box.
  • 37': It is fired in by Schmelzer but headed away for a throw which Piszczek takes. Eventually Kuba manoeuvres into space on the edge of the box and shoots but it is, again, well wide.
  • 40': Dortmund have managed to shut Shakhtar up and momentarily halt their attacking threat, but they are offering no end product themselves against the resolute defending of their Ukrainian hosts.
  • 41': GOAL Dortmund are level through Lewandowski. Gotze's fancy footwork on the right plays in the Pole inside the area, he takes a massively fortuitous air shot which takes out two defenders before dispatching at the second time of asking with ease. Class.
  • 43': This game hasn't failed to entertain so far - there is nothing cagey or pessimistic here, both sides are prepared to go out and play.
  • 44': Drama in the Dortmund box as Taison dribbles into the box before crossing, a cross which Santana moves out of the way of, along the goal-line. Schmelzer clears but Fernandinho fires in a second shot before the visitors scramble the ball to safety.
  • 45': Dortmund can rightly feel fortuitous to be on level terms following that.
  • 45': Howard Webb draws a close to a lively first half in Donetsk. The game is tied but won't stay that way for long if it continues like this!
  • 45': Felipe Santana has been a liability for his side, first giving away the free kick which saw them concede and then failing to stop a Taison cross which almost led to a second goal moments before the break.
  • 45': We're about to get underway with the second half - Dortmund to kick us off.
  • 46': The enthusiasm of the Shakhtar fans hasn't been dampened by the conditions - hopefully plenty more action on the pitch too.
  • 46': No changes for either side at the break. Shakhtar will be happy to see Santana still in Dortmund's defence.
  • 48': Taison is robbed by Kuba but the Brazilian shows great character to battle and win the ball back.
  • 51': Shakhtar are slowly making ground into the Dortmund half, without causing any real trouble thanks to the Germans' willingness to press.
  • 52': Both sides seem happy to wait for the other to snatch the initiative early in the second half. Slow start.
  • 53':
Robert Lewandowski scored to put Dortmund back on even terms.
  • 53': Piszczek plays a nice ball into the box for Lewandowski who swivels and shoots optimistically but it has neither the power or the direction to troouble Pyatov.
  • 54': Still the sides happy to allow each other turns in attacking duties.
  • 57': Adriano is felled by Hummels on the half way line as Shakhtar break, right in front of the referee, but nothing is given to the crowd's chagrin. Whistles aplenty.
  • 58': It is a possession game at the moment, Dortmund calm in control and happy to pass it, against Shakhtar who try to raise the tempo to suit them when given the chance.
  • 59': Shakhtar are preparing their first change of the night, this game is in need of something to liven it up.
  • 61': Piszczek tries to trouble Shakhtar from the right wing but his cross is well cut out by Fernandinho.
  • 62': Srna is limping after challenging Gotze but coming off worse.
  • 63': Shakhtar sub - Taison departs to be replaced by Douglas Costa. A good promising debut by the young Brazilian.
  • 64': Dortmund may be relieved to see the back of Taison.
  • 64': Costa is immediately troubling the Dortmund defence, skipping away from challenges and winning a throw in on the counter attack.
  • 67': Gotze breaks into the penalty area from the right wing with the intention of shooting but the ball is nicked off his boot and away for a corner.
  • 67': That was the culmination of some attacking play from Dortmund which failed to see them trouble Shakhtar who are so calm when defending in their own box.
  • 68': The ball is headed by Hummels, but not towards goal. No danger.
  • 68': GOAL Douglas Costa livens the game right up by firing Shakhtar back in front with a cracking volley after controlling a long ball and taking Hummels and Schmelzer out of the game.
  • 68': Hummels got tangled up for Costa's goal there - two defensive mistakes have cost Dortmund dear.
  • 71': Dortmund are being forced to up their tempo now and are passing with a purpose - a defeat is not the result they will want to take home but they have an away goal.
  • 72': Srna goes down under the challenge of Reus, the hosts happy to break the game up as they look to rile their opponents.
  • 73': Piszczek's right wing cross into the path of Lewandowski who shoots wide of the target from close range.
  • 74': A warning there from Dortmund, they may have mistakes in them at the back but they're capable of nicking an equaliser here.
  • 74': Lewandowski holds the ball up expertly allowing Kehl to bulldoze through but his shot is blocked and cleared.
  • 75': Mkhitaryan breaks down the right but he is too fast for his team mates and his ball across the box drifts aimlessly. Hummels left for dead.
  • 77': Rakitskiy has a go from distance but it is high, wide and not very handsome. A whole stand of crazy Ukrainians who are bouncing about with their shirts off chanting don't mind though.
  • 78': Every loose ball is seized upon by Shakhtar who are happy to take possession into the opposition half. Bender's cross field pass is cut out by Srna who charges upfield.
  • 79': Leitner is on for Dortmund to replace Kuba.
  • 81': Dortmund have really met their match tonight, the usually effective Gotze is knocked from pillar to post and has to settle for a corner which is bundled clear by a determined Shakhtar defence.
  • 82': Jurgen Klopp is going wild on the touchline - he is not happy with his side's display this evening.
  • 84': Second Shakhtar sub - Teixeira is replaced by Eduardo.
  • 86': Dortmund's passing game is not working to great effect - five minutes to play and the whistles have started to emanate from the home crowd.
  • 87': Piszczek wins a corner for Dortmund from an offside position.
  • 87': Another corner after Chigrinsky heads over his own bar.
  • 87': GOAL Dortmund are level thanks to a Mats Hummels header! The defender hit the bar in the first half but there was no stopping this bullet as he stooped to beat Pyatov with just minutes remaining.
  • 89': All of a sudden the Dortmund fans can be heard over everything else in the Donbass Arena.
  • 89': Dortmund are not done there though, they now have the wind in their sails and are wanting to pile forward. Could there be another twist yet?
  • 90': Leitner successfully dummies the defender but can't turn quick enough to break into the box and Pyatov gathers up the ball.
  • 90': Three minutes of added time to be played. Dortmund will be delighted to come away with two away goals.
  • 90': Julian Schieber replaces Marco Reus who has had a quiet evening by his standards.
  • 90': Both sides are still battling wholeheartedly for every ball and Dortmund's ability to keep the ball and pass out of tight situations is being put to the test.
  • 90': Their fans are still singing with gusto by the way.
  • 90': Into the final minute of added time.
  • 90': And that is it. FULL TIME: Shakhtar 2-2 Dortmund.
