Mats Hummels celebrates his late leveller in the first leg - 0': It is 2-2 after a first leg of exciting drama as Dortmund fought back to claim two away goals. Match report here
- 0': Shakhtar team: Pyatov, Kucher, Rat, Rakitskiy, Hubschman, Fernandinho, Teixeira, Srna, Adriano, Mkhitaryan, Taison. SUBS: Kanibolotskiy, Kryvtsov, Stepanenko, Kobin, Gai, Costa, Eduardo.
- 0': Dortmund team: Weidenfeller, Subotic, Piszczek, Santana, Schmelzer, Bender, Gundogan, Gotze, Reus, Blaszczykowski, Lewandowski. SUBS: Langerak, Kehl, Leitner, Sahin, Grosskreutz, Bittencourt, Schieber.
- 0': So, the teams are in and it looks strong from both. Fernandinho and Taison ones to watch from Donetsk; Gotze and Lewandowski from Dortmund.
- 0': Dortmund, it should not be forgotten, won this competition in 1997. No Ukrainian side has ever beaten them in European games.
- 0': Under-rated Darijo Srna holds key to a Shakhtar triumph, writes Michael Yokhin. Read his piece here
- 0': Stephan Uersfeld says that Dortmund are playing for retrieval of their honour. Read it here
- 0': Something that could make a difference is the absence of defender Mats Hummels for Dortmund with flu. Santana starts in his place and the Germans will hope he plays all the right notes tonight.
- 0': A stat, courtesy of Opta: Borussia Dortmund are one of only three teams unbeaten in the Champions League this season, with Juventus and Schalke.
- 0': Similar formations tonight, so should be a good match up. 4-2-3-1. Gotze and Mkhitaryan sitting in behind a central striker.
- 0': With the two away goals and home advantage, one would have to favour Dortmund. Chelsea know how tough an opponent Shakhtar are though.
- 0': A man with a 'Kagawa' shirt is waving a giant flag for Dortmund. Bit out of date, but if you want to to find out how the Japanese midfielder's new side gets on against Real Madrid, you can follow here
- 0': The teams are coming out and we are minutes away from kick-off.
- 0': Dortmund in their yellow and black, looking a bit waspish; Shakhtar in white.
- 1': KICK-OFF. Shakhtar get us underway...
- 1': Piszczek controls the ball down the right and Dortmund are trying to get hold of it early on.
- 2': Reus did well to get beyond his defender, but the ball through was cut out with ease.
- 3': Now Fernandinho tries a chipped ball over the top but it wasn't good enough. Lewandowski and Reus combine very well, but the cross was overhit.
- 4': Lewandowski rises from a corner and fails to get his header on target. At the other end, Taison is bundled over but Shakhtar are yet to impose themselves on this game
- 4': Gotze running the attack for Dortmund. Good interplay and Piszczek cross is behind Lewandowski though.
- 5': Not much urgency from Shakhtar, which is odd given they need to score. Just happy to knock the ball around at the moment.
- 6': Gundogan is putting in the hard yards in the middle for Dortmund, but both sides are lacking cutting edge at the moment. Still feeling their way into the game.
- 7': The wide ball to Blaszczykowski just has too much on it. Otherwise he was in a good position to swing a cross in.
- 8': Must be said, not seen much of the Shakhtar attack so far. They've hardly had a kick up that end.
- 9': Ouch. Kucher goes in hard on Schmelzer and lucky to escape a booking. Just went through his man, but the ref is lenient.
- 10': Dortmund putting together some possession now and trying to make the breakthrough. Lots of nice passing, and the pressure is on.
- 11': Mkhitaryan gets on the end of a ball which is deflected into his path. He tries to cross, when perhaps a shot from a tight angle might have been a better option.
- 12': First real opening for Shakhtar, and it was a pretty lucky one.
- 12': Gotze opens up the Shakhtar defence with a lovely throughball. Lewandowski runs onto it, but Pyatov races out and closes the shot down. Rat then clears the rebound.
- 13': That was the best chance of the game. Fantastic work from Gotze and a real warning for the away side.
- 14': Srna is felled in his own half and the Ukrainian side need to get their feet on the ball. They are even being pressured in defence.
- 15': Kucher goes in the book for a cynical foul on Lewandowski after his great turn.
- 16': Gotze providing an excellent link between striker and midfield at the moment. He is at the heart of everything.
- 16': Reus breaks away down the right and tries to cross. It's deflected and almost falls for Gotze in the box, but eventually it's hacked clear.
- 17': Lewandowski skips away and it falls for Bender, who smashes it well over the bar.
- 18': Gotze's chipped ball is cut out and Shakhtar's defence has done well to read the aerial balls so far.
- 19': Lewandowski was floored by Rakitskiy, but the ref keeps his whistle in his pocket. The Dortmund fans are up in full voice as they feel they were due a decision there. They were.
- 21': Schmelzer has to clear from inside his own six yard box. Does well to hook it behind for a corner, but there was little pressure on him from attacking players.
- 22': Weidenfeller in goal has had a few dodgy touches. Doesn't look too comfortable when the ball is played back to him.
- 23': Bender floats the ball in, and it just evades Lewandowski. Taison breaks and the ball eventually finds Fernandinho at the edge of the box. His shot is deflected behind.
- 25': Kucher closes down and fouls Blaszczykowski. Oh, that could have been a second yellow card. One more foul and you feel he could be off.
- 26': The ball almost fell for Gundogan on the edge of the box after good work from Gotze again. Quickly up the other end, Rat whips a great ball in but it flicks off a Dortmund head and goes through everyone.
- 27': Piszczek away down the right. Great work from Lewandowski to get him free and Piszczek chooses to cross - it breaks back to him and instead of shooting into an empty net he tries to control and loses it.
- 27': There was only a second of opening there, but Piszczek really should have taken it first time.
- 28': Dortmund continuing to keep the ball with ease. Shakhtar are struggling to do anything but break on the counter when they get hold of it.
- 30': Gundogan controls well and starts an attack. Gotze creates a bit of space and has a go, but it is well blocked.
- 31': GOAL Santana heads home from a corner
- 31': Great delivery and a wonderful leap, but you have to feel that Rat should have done better on the post there. It went right over hi. 1-0.
- 32': Shakhtar now need to score twice. That is a big goal from Santana.
- 32': Taison and Mkhitaryan almost link up, but the ball skips away and the move breaks down. Those two need to get into the game a lot more if the Ukrainian side are to make an impact here.
- 34': Piszczek and Blaszczykowski work an opening down the right. They have both found joy down that side so far.
- 34': Blaszczykowski getting some space now and he cuts inside to slip the ball to Reus, whose shot is blocked. It's all Dortmund now.
- 35': Corner comes in again and Santana gets his head on it, but just skids off his forehead and flies behind him.
- 36': Gotze showing some strength as Srna tries to barge him off the ball and then falls over.
- 37': Jurgen Klopp, Dortmund coach, on the touchline looks like he's a happy man. Dortmund have been the better side by far.
- 37': GOAL Gotze flicks the ball home after a cross from Lewandowski.
- 37': Only one player in the box, but a great delivery and Gotze's shot deflects off Srna and trickles into the bottom corner.
- 38': Shakhtar have hardly been in it to be fair. This is well deserved and Dortmund are in complete control now.
- 39': Mkhitayan loses out again when his control should have been better. A struggle for him this half, so far.
- 41': Luis Adriano in the box can't get hold of the cross. Not quite the perfection that was delivered by Lewandowski a short time earlier.
- 41': Taison beats Blaszczykowski to it, but then loses the ball. Shakhtar have yet to test Weidenfeller in the Dortmund goal.
- 43': Lewandowski should have made it three. Reus runs and sends the striker away, but he just delays his shot and the defender manages to get back in time. Klopp is going mad - he wanted that one!
- 44': Piszczek is free on the edge of the box after a corner, but his shot flies over. Great power on the strike, just no direction.
- 44': Kucher gets his head on the corner, then swings wlidly at the rebound. Not good enough.
- 45': Just the one minute of added time.
- 45': This half has gone very well for Dortmund... but Weidenfeller is called into action as Fernandinho crosses but ends up as shot. Tipped over, but that's the first thing he's had to do.
- 45': HALF-TIME: DORTMUND 2-0 SHAKHTAR. A well deserved lead at the half. Goals from Santana and Gotze have the Germans well in control.
- 0':
Santana celebrates his opener - 0': Very one sided game here, but it's 0-0 between Manchester United and Real Madrid. Pop over here if you want to catch that one.
- 0':
Mario Gotze scores the second goal - 46': KICK-OFF. Dortmund get us underway...
- 46': Kehl in, Bender out.
- 46': Douglas Costa comes on, Taison out.
- 46': Some interesting subs at half-time there. Kehl the protector... Taison wasn't impressing and Costa could add some attacking prowess.
- 47': Dortmund moving through the gears and Blaszczykowski really should have done better with his cross.
- 48': Costa bursts away - great pace from the Brazilian and he gets into the box before overrunning the ball. In the end, he toe-pokes it
- 48': Shakhtar on the attack now. Teixeira drives at the defence and frees up Costa, who drags his shot wide.
- 49': Costa has been on the pitch for all of 3 minutes, and has already had two decent attempts on goal.
- 49': Teixeira is found in the box, and really should have done better. He had time, but allowed Subotic to get the block.
- 50': Fernandinho now has a go. Weidenfeller comes out to put him off, and it works. Shakhtar are going all-out here. They had to.
- 51': The Ukrainians are clearly not lying down here. Dortmund need to get their feet back on the ball.
- 53': Shakhtar seem to have dropped off now. Dortmund starting to assert their dominance again and have a free-kick in a very dangerous area.
- 53': That was Kucher again, who is walking a tightrope. He could easily have been booked again for that.
- 54': Reus has a go, but it skids into the hands of Pyatov.
- 55': Srna has a go from a long way out, but Weidenfeller is well on top of it. Shakhtar just need to get their zip back again.
- 56': Dangerous as Santana almost found space in the box again, but Pyatov was there to claim. The ball breaks again, and Gotze has a go from a tigh angle. Saved once more.
- 57': Bit of a bombardment coming from Dortmund now, and Pyatov is there again to claim it.
- 58': Costa tries a disguised pass, but it was read well by Subotic.
- 59': GOAL Shot from Gundogan and Blaszczykowski put it in after a fumble from Pyatov.
- 59': A cracking shot, but it should have been dealt with by the keeper. Blaszczykowski was coolness personified as he netted the third. Game over now.
- 60': Dortmund fans are jumping now. 5-2 on aggregate and they are surely into the next round.
- 61': Costa still trying to make an impact for Shakhtar though. His shot is dragged wide after finding some space.
- 63': Gotze is through after a quick free-kick. A couple of stepovers and he blasts his shot well over the bar. Oh dear.
- 65': Shakhtar still battling away and Costa is putting in tackles as well as trying to get them going in attack, but it looks a little beyond them right now.
- 66': Santana and Subotic are enjoying some possession here. They are certainly in no rush.
- 67': Great quick feet and Gotze is sent running away again. His ball in is just not good enough to find Lewandowski and is cleared.
- 69': Blaszczykowski comes off and Grosskreutz is coming on.
- 70': Blaszczykowski gets a huge hug from his manager as he comes off. He's been impressive tonight.
- 71': Oddly Dortmund are only just shading the possession stats, it feels like they have had a lot more of the ball than they have.
- 72': Shakhtar trying to do something with it now. Adriano up front has hardly touched the ball, but now wants a penalty from Piszczek. Looks like the Dortmund man did handball it actually...
- 73': Srna is trying his best and some nice passing moves, but they are so vulnerable on the break.
- 74': Reus and Lewandowski link up well on the counter and Grosskreutz gets a shot in, which is tipped round the post well by Pyatov.
- 75': At this stage, it looks like being 4-0, before it's 3-1.
- 77': Gundogan breaks and Gotze is running the show in space now. Dortmund countering well, and holding firm at the back.
- 77': Reus with a wonderful, mazy run. He goes past about 5 players, almost loses his balance in the box and then hammers a shot wide of the post.
- 78': Reus and Gotze have been on fire tonight. The Dortmund attacking machine has been very impressive.
- 80': Lewandowski chases the ball down and almost intercepts a clearance from Pyatov.
- 81': Gundogan off, Sahin on.
- 82': Weidenfeller comes out quickly to stop the ball forward, but he's hardly been bothered bar for a 10 minute spell at the start of the half.
- 83': Well, now the keeper has something to do. Adriano somehow breaks the offside trap and gets on the end of a deflected shot. His effort is well blocked from close range by Weidenfeller.
- 86': Game is petering out now. Shakhtar can do little to stop the onslaught.
- 86': Schmelzer slips, but Dortmund escape and break. Gotze almost finds Lewandowski again, but it's just cut out.
- 88': Santana clears with a header, but there is little left to do here.
- 89': Dortmund fans already celebrating and well they should. It has been a fine performance from the Germans tonight.
- 90': One minute of added time. I don't think it will be needed.
- 91': FULL-TIME: DORTMUND 3-0 SHAKHTAR. A well deserved win for the German side. Santana, Gotze, then Blaszczykowski with the goals and they are into the quarter-finals.
- 0': A very impressive performance. Bar a 10 minute spell in the second half, Shakhtar were not at races. They don't deserve to go through and Dortmund do.
- 0': Thanks for joining us here. We'll have more UCL action for you tomorrow night, so be sure to join us again.
