- 0': PSV include defender Carlos Salcido, despite his recent verbal attack on coach Huub Stevens, for a game the Dutch side have to win to qualify for the UEFA Cup ahead of Marseille.

- 3': PSV have to win and hope Marseille don't win to make the UEFA Cup. PSV, though, have been woeful in Europe this term.
- 4': Foul by Arbeloa or Mascherano on Amrabat. The resulting free-kick is played straight into gloves of Diego
- 5': Riera breaks but there's little movement in front of him. The tap through for Ngog only finds former Man City bencher Isaksson
- 6': Riera goes in too strongly with Culina. Free-kick again to PSV but deep in their own half.
- 7': If Marseille score against Atletico this could become very dull. Liverpool will be top of the table and PSV out.
- 8': Well, it's already dull. Duller.
- 9': Another soft free kick, Dzsudzsák with a hand on the back of Riera
- 9': Keane flops to the ground in the area under a challenge from Edison Mendez. Never a pen. Good play from Babel in the build up

- 12': Simons tries a blast, Diego is unconvincing and pats it away to his left

- 14': Babel trudges across in no hurry at all. It's taken short and Liverpool don't really look what they know they're doing and PSV clear
- 15': No shirt spoondoe for Liverpool today. Dirty beer sponsorship must be banned. UEFA are still allowed their Heineken boards around the pitch though...
- 16': PSV look more hungry for this game, though you can still tell Liverpool are more technically capable.
- 17': Arbeloa curls in a cross, Marcellis heads away
- 18': Poor shot from Amrabat - effectively a pass-back to Diego
- 19': No goals in the Champions League yet to night. Oh, the excitement...
- 20': I forgot to change my fantasy team tonight. Rubbish!
- 21': PSV look a little dangerous but lack belief. Agger does well to clear when it looked like the home side may get in. Poor pass from Babel but Amrabat couldn't find a team-mate with a cutback on the left
- 21': Mascherano has to go off - he's got a cut lip and will need that sorted out.
- 22': Babel's pass to the overlapping Arbeloa is poor and a defender gets in first
- 23': This can't get any worse. I could go and make a brew and miss NOTHING

- 25': Bréchet has just launched a long ball from his own half straight to Diego in goal. Amazingly bad
- 26': Sporting have scored in Basle. The only goal tonight.
- 27': Agger seems to catch Bakkal with an arm, nothing to it though

- 30': Lucas looks find Riera in the box. Another poor ball and it goes out for a goal kick

- 32': Good overlapping run by Culina on the right but his cutback hits the first defender
- 33': Corner to PSV on the right. It comes in from Dzsudzsák and hits a striker in the face... it drops for Lazovic....
- 34': GOAL!!!
- 35': Mascherano chose not to head away the corner, ducked, it hit a PSV player and the loose ball broke to the unmarked Lazovic who hammered a shot under Diego
- 36': We have a goal. I had my house on 0-0. Liverpool felt it should not have been a corner in the first place but that's academic now
- 37': PSV have been just the better side. But it really is the better of two evils here in Holland
- 38': Liverpool now have to come out an show some adventure if they are to top the group. Seems little sign of that at the moment
- 39': Salomon Kalou has scored for Chelsea. They lead 1-0 and seem on their way through
- 40': Lazovic goes down stricken, the challenge coming in from Arbeloa. Was there a little kick out?
- 41': Agger and Simons are called over. This is all very strange. Ah, now Arbeloa is called over. It's a yellow of Arbeloa and Simons. Arbeloa's not too taken with that

- 43': Ngog, that household name, is felled bar Marcellis. Not Marcellis Wallace. That's someone else.
- 43': Now Lucas fells Lazovic - no card this time
- 44': Howls for handball against Carragher just outside the box - ref says no
- 45': Cross from Dossena on the left, finds Ngog unmarked on the penalty spot put he plants a tame header into the gloves of Isaksson. Straight at him
- 45': One minute to be added. One minute too many.
- 45': Free-kick to Liverpool on the right. Lucas floats it in from the right in the deep and Babel is unmarked...
- 45': GOAL!!!
- 45': Babel was unmarked and just flicked the ball on and into the corner of the net. Woeful defending, no chance Isaksson. Liverpool scored 30 seconds OVER the added time allowed. Who says they're lucky?

- 45': One of the dullest games ever seen somehow has two goals in it. Hopes are not high for the second 45.

- 48': Keane finds Ngog but he just fails to skip inside Marcellis
- 49': Ngog fails to find Riera on the run, good intercepton from Marcellis again
- 50': Babel's cross almost finds Keane, a vital clearance comes in from Simons
- 51': Keane is in the clear and must score...
- 51': ...he mishits the shot and Salcido is able to play it behind ahead of Ngog. The ref things Ngog got the touch and gives a goal kick
- 52': Poor challenge from Dossena on Mendes, brought him down from behind and a definte card
- 53': Jay Nielsen says: "The game is only as exciting as your lame ass half-hearted attempts at humor. Comment on the match and stop the bitching." Jay, there's hardly anything to commentate on. Would you perfer white space?
- 54': Ngog blazes over from 25 yards. Woeful. Do you pronounce it Ngo? And if the g is silent does that make it No? No?
- 55': Cluj level at Stamford Bridge!
- 56': Peter Crommett would rather watch Panathinaikos vs Anorthosis. So would I. At lesat it means something!
- 57': Alonso, Gerrard and Benayoun warm up. Maybe they can warm the game up
- 58': A shot! Bakkal leathers one from 20 yards out and it's straight at Diego who needs two grasps
- 59': Good fast break here. Keane feeds Babel on the right, he cuts into the area but tries the ambitious drive through a defender's legs. Always wide.
- 60': Keane is blocked off, bit of a soft free-kick. And PSV are very unhelpful not having clear numbers on their shorts
- 61': Another half chance for Keane which he doesn't quite get hold of.
- 62': Keane is almost in again. Liverpool improving now
- 63': Offside against Lazovic. He was looking across the line and should have been through - and in on goal
- 64': Babel dithers slightly meaning he is tackled before releasing Keane
- 65': Arbeloa almost scores an own goal! He looked to head it behind but put it just an inch or two wide.
- 66': Corner to PSV, taken by Lazovic and palmed away by Diego
- 66': The game has got interesting all of a sudden. How very odd.

- 67': Babel again gets space on the right. Again Keane is in space. Again Babel fails to get the better of the defender

- 69': Riera thwacks one into the top corner from a little over 20 yards out. Brilliant strike and Liverpool are heading for top spot

- 78': Great through ball from Keane, it gave Ngog the chance to run into space and he slotted a shot under the body of Isaksson. Game over. Pass the mulled wine

- 81': Email in from David Graham who clearly finds me hilarious. Can't be the same David Graham who played for Sheffield Wednesday. That most certainly was not hilarious

- 90': Woeful effort from Keane, trying a curling effort with his left. It started way too wide. And didn't curl.
- 90': Lazovic hits a shot that has gone so far wide it finished out for a throw level with the edge of the box.
- 90': And that's it, full time.
- 90': A decent second half after a woeful first 45. Victory for Liverpool. Atletico's draw at Marseille means they top the group.
