— Ayden Pereira threw for three touchdowns and ran for another and Merrimack won its third straight by beating Colgate 51-17 on Saturday in a non-conference game.

— Marco Maldonado rushed for a career-high 112 yards and a touchdown and Colgate outlasted Georgetown 38-28 on Saturday.

— Joe Pesansky was 25-of-29 passing for 289 yards and threw four touchdowns to Justin Shorter, who finished with 140 yards on 11 receptions, and Holy Cross beat Colgate 38-7 on Saturday in the Patriot League opener for both teams.

— Michael Brescia ran for two touchdowns and Colgate collected 270 yards rushing and the Raiders beat Cornell in the Big Red's season opener, 41-24 on Saturday.

— Ben Finley threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns, and Bobby Golden and Adrian Norton each had 100-plus yards receiving and a touchdown as Akron took a break from power-conference opponents to beat FCS foe Colgate 31-20 on Saturday.
