Buffalo rewards coach Pete Lembo with raise, extension
The University at Buffalo has signed Pete Lembo to a one-year contract extension in the wake of his 9-4 debut season as head coach of the Bulls, the school announced Tuesday.
Sources: Pete Lembo and Buffalo have reached an agreement on a new contract, which adds a year to his deal through 2029 and gives him a raise. The deal also includes a significant increase in resources for assistant coaches and staff. Buffalo went 9-4 this season and won the Bahamas Bowl.The nine wins marked the most by a first-year coach in the history of the program. Buffalo went 6-2 in the MAC. Lembo is a veteran coach who spent five years at Ball State, five at Elon and five at Lehigh.
