QB Ethan Greenwood catches a go-ahead TD from backup Luca Stanzani, and Long Island beats CCSU 24-21
Greenwood was left untouched out of the backfield for an easy catch of Stanzani's pass over the middle to give LIU the lead.
With 1:27 left, CCSU returner Michael Plaskon dropped a punt but he was able to recover it at the 11-yard line. The Blue Devils picked up two first downs to get near midfield with 43 seconds left.
CCSU missed an opportunity to move into position for a last second field-goal attempt. On fourth-and-four with 14 seconds left, Brady Olson found Cortaz Williams out of the backfield, but he ran out of bounds to stop the clock just short of the marker to turn it over on downs.
LIU (2-7, 2-2 Northeast Conference) has won two of its last three games after starting the season on a six-game losing streak.
Greenwood completed 10 of 14 passes and he carried it 18 times for 66 yards.
Olson was 20 of 34 for 185 yards with a touchdown for CCSU (3-5, 2-1). He also had a team-high 46 yards rushing and another score.
