Veteran goaltender Frederik Andersen, 36, who helped the Carolina Hurricanes win three playoff series before giving the starter's net up to Brandon Bussi in the Stanley Cup Final last month, agreed to a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday.

The Edmonton Oilers traded defenseman Darnell Nurse to the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday afternoon, keeping the 31-year-old veteran in the Western Conference. In exchange, his former club acquired defensemen Shakir Mukhamadullin and Zack Sharp.
