Rutgers assistant Mark Orphey has accepted a job as an assistant coach at Texas, sources confirm to ESPN. They have an open secondary spot with Blake Gideon taking the Georgia Tech DC job. He spent three years at Rutgers. Orangebloods first reported.

Robb Smith is returning to Rutgers for a third time, this time as co-defensive coordinator under coach Greg Schiano, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel.
Sources: Rutgers is set to hire Robb Smith as the school’s co-defense coordinator and defensive play caller. This will be his third stop as a defensive coordinator at Rutgers, and third time overall at the school. He’s been the DC at Arkansas, Minnesota and Duke. Smith spent the last two years as a Penn State analyst, and this marks his fourth stint working under Greg Schiano. Rutgers is also in the process of hiring JMU’s Zach Sparber as the other co-defensive coordinator.
